Direct drawing using silkscreen media.
Screenprinting was the first print media I ever explored. I first started in the Tin Sheds at Sydney University in the 1980’s. Whilst at the Druckverkstatt (State Print Workshop) in Berlin some fifteen years later I started drawing directly through a silkscreen and was thrilled by the immediacy of the mark making. Although I have used and still use stencils of every sort, it is the drawing through silkscreens using a variety of small squeegees cut to size, that I favour most of all as a way to use this medium.
At both Sunshine Print Artspace and Boldface FAP there are screen printing facilities.
